Artashes Mamikonovich Gegamyan (Armenian: Արտաշես Մամիկոնի Գեղամյան, born December 2, 1949, Yerevan) is an Armenian political figure.

Education and Early Career

From 1966 to 1971, Gegamyan attended the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute, where he studied electrical engineering.

In 1988-1990, he was a student at the Academy of Social Sciences under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union in Moscow.

Political Career

From 1974 to 1976, Gegamyan served as the first secretary of the Leninist Communist Youth League (LCY) committee at the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute.

He then became the head of the youth department at the Central Committee of the LCY. From 1979 to 1986, he held various positions at the Central Comm
