    Founding and Lineup

    Imagine Dragons emerged as a band in 2008 when lead vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Dan Reynolds connected with drummer Andrew Tolman while attending Brigham Young University.

    They discovered their shared musical tastes and aspirations to form a rock band.

    Early Success

    After winning a battle of the bands competition and performing at several other events, Imagine Dragons released their debut self-titled EP in September 2009.

    They signed with Interscope Records and released two more EPs, "Hell and Silence" (2010) and "It's Time" (2011).
